I don't have very palatable words for those cases gurus being frequent visitors to health institutions and fancy doctors. Yet I dare to share.
Srila Prabhupada very strongly opposed to be taken to hospitals and doctors. The more modern medical system, the more he opposed it. If needed he preferred Ayurvedic treatment above all.
On the other side, those gurus who are not reluctant to use Krishna's money for their health issues, are a bit in a thick dip of bodily fear. They say it is for Krishna, even though it is for their sense gratification. Those are the words of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada. When foolish materially covered disciples put their pampered pet gurus to all kinds too often bodily treatments, they complete the farce.
I saw one SP's disciple put in a hospital. He agreed, or it seemed so. He was quite weak and exhausted to protest. When he regained some strength, and he saw it is going nowhere, he had enough. He demanded to be brought back to Mayapur, and leave the body there. Which he did.
